Powering the module with a 12VDC battery:

A voltage drop from 12V to 6V can occur when the starter power consumption is too high and/or the battery is undersized.

This drop can reset the module on each start attempt, to solve this problem a capacitor and a diode can be wired across the Power + and - inputs as shown in the diagram below.

  • The diode must be able to withstand high currents (eg Littelfuse DST2045AX) Ex:

  • Select an Aluminum Electrolyte type capacitor, with a value of 10,000 μF to 24,000 μF supporting at least 25 V of maximum voltage. Ex:

Assembly diagram:

A CAPA 15F kit is available for quick installation (on 12VDC applications only), please request it from CRE Technology.

The kit is presented and installed as follows:

Note: Below is a curve of the Compact hold-up time on a voltage drop as a function of the Capa value,

The curve takes into account the activation of the two active relays during starting.

The greater the capa values, the more the voltage drop will be compensated over time.
