We have created this application note to help you during the migration of your UNIGEN PLUS A51Z1 module to GENSYS Compact Prime.

Wiring:

1. Terminal affectation & standard configuration: UNIGEN PLUS VS COMPACT Prime:

See attached pdf document for correspondance table.  The document is showing cross terminal referance and notes.

Note: (*) optional functions, terminal number is given as example, the related function must be configured with PC software or attached predefined configuration according to these features can be used.

Download attached 'Unigen Refit.zip' configuration file. The file is the default configuration according to wiring recommandation proposed in this application note, it will have to be completed depending on the project and electrical values. Check also chapter 3 for activation of Synchro & Load share mode at the end of the configuration.

2. Terminal overview :  UNIGEN PLUS (Yellow/Blue) vs GENSYS COMPACT PRIME 

We recommend tu use the standard wiring schematics for GENSYS COMPACT PRIME (available on website) as additional reference.

3. Configuration: Activation of "Synchro & Load sharing mode" on COMPACT controller.

This step must be done after calibration of speed/voltage control with EasyCalib.

Synchronisation & Load share only - Mode of operation

Synchro & Load share only mode is made to turn standard GENSYS Compact Prime into an automatic synchronizer & load sharing unit, in order to replace analog load sharing systems, analog synchronizers, or any systems combining these both features (PowRCon, Unigen…)

Once Synchro & Load share only mode is activated, the controller will only launch synchronization on request, and load share once paralleling information has been given.

Activation of Synchro & Load share only mode:

From i4GE Suite PC Software, go in Configuration/General/Application, then turn the Synchro & Load share only mode to “yes” at the bottom of the page:

Synchro & Load share only mode is now activated, controller will be forced in AUTO Mode and start/stop sequence management will be cancelled, therefore all starting process of the engine as to be external.

4. Notes about wiring:

** All I/O are negative (-) to active on COMPACT

* EQUIPOTENTIALITIES: It is important to respect the following equipotential schematic with EARTH adequate wiring.

Potential differences between Neutral, Ground, Common CT, Battery negative and 0VDC COMPACT module could create an undesired current going through the COMPACT module, and the following problems can occur:

• Wrong voltage measurement & display values

• Wrong current measurement and display values

• Wrong analog inputs measurement and display values

• Damage of the controller in some situations

All earth points must be correctly connected and measurement of 0VDC has to be observed between them.
