If your GENSYS2.0 needs a firmware update at the last index, the whole procedure will be the following (we invite you to contact CRE Technology for more information about the need of updates):
Download and save the current txt configuration files by logging in with the level 2 password: CREProd, to get the complete files.
We advise you to use the embedded web site as explained on page 40 of the technical documentation that you can download here :
https://www.cretechnology.com/en/files/download/5fda098da9fc7-gensys-2.0-range-technical-documentation-en-s2020.pdf
- Do the first boot update via the Flashit executable (attached), this is what updates the drivers, especially the ports, and improves the COM processing.
You need a USB type B cable (square) to connect to the GENSYS2.0 from the PC. The complete procedure is available in the zip file attached.
- Then, you need to update the FW to version v5.06 (attached) via the SD card or the PC to bring the product to the latest version. The SD flashing procedure is attached.
- When these two steps are done you can put back the original configuration file. If the FW evolutions make some parameters obsolete or to be reparameterized, GENSYS2.0 will tell you in the compilation message; note the given instructions.
2 more precautions:
- It is recommended to disable the frequency centering function after a product index update.
==> procedure: when the file is reinstalled, go to the menu Configuration/modification by variable number, enter the parameter address "1476", and set it to "0" then save, ditto for the parameter "1504".
- The IP addresses will be reset to the default addresses after FW download (192.168.11.1), if the IP address of your config file is different you will have to adapt the config of your PC port after download, and once the text file of the site will be reinstalled you will have to restart the product (24VDC OFF/ON) to revalidate the original IP (that of the text file).
End of the procedure.
